Embodied Echoes is a dynamic movement methodology that merges personal experiences, emotional exploration, and a deep connection to the natural world to generate authentic, expressive movement. Designed for artists seeking to deepen their improvisatory skills, creative expression, and presence, this practice blends structured technique with raw vulnerability and imagination. At its core, Embodied Echoes is guided by the “Three E’s” – Emotion, Earth, and Experience – and innovative movement systems developed over several years of personal research. These systems, created by Emma-Lynn, reflect a fusion of classical ballet, grounded contemporary techniques, animalistic movement, and theatrical interpretation. The Three E’s serve as tools to drive physicality, helping dancers explore their emotional and instinctive selves while uncovering new pathways in movement and expression. This methodology challenges participants to move beyond premeditated choreography, embracing risk, honesty, and the power of storytelling through the body.
What to Expect during the workshop:
● Emotion: Explore the physicality of emotions, from breath to movement, letting each feeling – positive or negative – become the driving force of your body’s expression. Different emotions will be focussed on throughout the workshop.
● Earth: Reconnect with the natural world, drawing inspiration from animals and elements, tapping into your instinctive, primal self to discover new movement pathways during improvisation. Strengthening interpretation and introducing new movement systems to the body.
● Experience: Reflect on personal memories and lived experiences, allowing them to shape and guide your movement in unique, powerful ways. You will also learn choreography introducing my unique way of dance and performance, and including your own experience to the mix.
Through these practices, you’ll develop the tools to channel your inner child and inner animal, accessing deeply personal and imaginative movement possibilities.
Embodied Echoes is an invitation to be vulnerable, risky, and honest in your practice, reconnecting with your body’s raw ability to tell stories and evoke emotions. It’s a chance to explore who you are as a mover, artist, and human being – and to bring your whole self into the dance.
