Program

2-day intensive

Unlock greater flexibility, strength, and fluid movement with this transformative four-part workshop designed for dancers and open to everyone. Dive into the world of fascia—the connective tissue that influences your range of motion and overall health. Through a blend of Yin Yoga’s deep, meditative stretches and Yang Yoga’s dynamic, energizing flows, you’ll learn techniques to release tension, improve recovery, and enhance body awareness.

This workshop draws inspiration from the Five Elements of Chinese Medicine —Water, Wood, Fire, Earth, and Metal—each shaping our movement, stability, and inner harmony. Guided by the qualities of one or two elements per session, it offers tailored physical and energetic benefits. This holistic approach nurtures well-being, supports injury prevention, and strengthens your connection to the body’s natural energy, cultivating balance, resilience, and ease in daily life.

Water: Unwinding the Spine
(Friday, June 27 | 10:00–13:00)
Harness the Water element’s energy to create flow and fluidity in the body. This session focuses on releasing fascia along the spine, improving flexibility, and enhancing the connection between breath and motion. By connecting with the Water element, you’ll foster qualities of relaxation, emotional balance, and resilience.

Wood: Opening and Freeing the Hips
(Friday, June 27 | 15:00–18:00)
The Wood element represents growth, expansion, and flexibility. In this session, you’ll focus on opening and releasing the hips, allowing for greater fluidity and freedom in movement. By connecting with the Wood element, you’ll cultivate qualities of resilience, renewal, and adaptability that can enhance your overall sense of well-being in daily life.

Fire and Metal: Deep Release for the Shoulders and Neck
(Saturday, June 28 | 10:00–13:00)
In this session, you’ll release the tension and stress that often accumulate in the shoulders and neck, areas where we commonly carry physical and emotional weight. By connecting with the transformative energy of Fire and the clarity of Metal, you’ll free up tightness, promote deeper relaxation, and bring a sense of lightness in both body and mind.

Earth: Finding Balance and Presence in the Entire Body
(Saturday, June 28 | 15:00–18:00)
The Earth element symbolizes grounding, stability, and nourishment. This session focuses on cultivating balance and presence, helping you feel centered and supported. By connecting with Earth energy, you'll strengthen your foundation and enhance your overall well-being, leaving you more rooted and connected.

Yin Yoga:
Yin yoga is a gentle, slow-paced practice where postures are held for 2 to 5 minutes, often seated or lying down. It offers a vital balance to more active, dynamic forms of yoga or lifestyles, focusing on the fascia (connective tissue) and meridians to promote ease, particularly in the joints. Yin yoga is highly effective for pain relief, activating the meridians and stimulating the parasympathetic nervous system, which calms both the body and mind. It alleviates stress and tension, while also allowing space for emotional release and healing. Through its meditative nature, Yin quiets the mind, fostering clarity and insight.

Yang Yoga:
Yang yoga is an active, dynamic practice that focuses on strength, movement, and vitality. Rooted in a functional approach, it emphasises proper alignment while honouring each person’s unique skeleton. There is freedom for each person to find the appropriate alignment for their body. Yang yoga stimulates the muscles, improving stability, fostering joint health, and promoting overall strength. Through mindful movement, Yang yoga encourages both physical empowerment and mental focus, helping to release tension, increase energy flow, and cultivate resilience.
